Praise LORD! He keeps us safe. He will become like a tree planted by rivers of waters.(Jeremiah 17.8)

Moses announced Jesus   coming  'the Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet from among your own brothers. You must listen to him' (Deut. 18:15).

O Christ God,
And Thy disciples beheld Thy glory as far as they could see it;
So that when they would behold Thee crucified,
They would understand that Thy suffering was voluntary,
And would proclaim to the world,
That Thou art truly the Radiance of the Father!

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me”(Paul -Galatians 2:20).

Jesus explained to his disciples at Caesarea Philippi that he must suffer and die.

We heard a voice from heaven for the second time (the first time was at the baptism - initiating the opening phase of Jesus' public ministry).

Paul used the word transfigure   when telling  the Corinthians that we 'are being transformed ['transfigured'] into his likeness with the  increasing glory' (2 Cor. 3:18).

Accessing the realm of the dead: Moses and Elijah’s appearance to the disciples. we see a difference between the paranormal and the  revelation from God.

It was allowed to the disciples the vision to show the glory of God.

It was not about another physical body of Jesus, although it seemed a real event. The disciples could have the perception of what Jesus was and what was

His role. They could understand the unity with the Father, and a new dimension

of their divine nature -Father and Son– from the beginning of the world.

Moses’ burial-place could not be located, he was in Sheol – the residence of

the dead, but Elijah had been taken into heaven( not subject to death).

Therefore, he seemed to govern over the living ones.

When the disciples were awake, saw Jesus alone.

To mention about Jesus’ transfiguration could have been understood as a

pagan metamorphose. Luke said He was just praying. The glorious splendour was Jesus’

“Who do the crowds say I am?' (9:18). That is why the disciples assisted to

Jesus’ transfiguration: He was not Moses, Elijah or Jeremiah – raised from the dead.

In Luke's account, the voice from heaven says: 'This is my Son, whom  I love”, and people must know the kingdom of God, before their death.

“I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God (9:26).

Moses had a shining face at receiving the Ten Commandments. The glory of the Lord filled the place (40:34).

Presence of God brings a brilliance of the face.

The Tranfiguration Feast of today should make us think of the entire

brightness of the Saviour.
