What would it feel like to spend four years of your life in a 4 x 6 room looking out the window as you watch the world go by? What if you were never being able to leave your house because you were not feeling well and could not stand up?

Seble before doctors visit

Seble, was the victim of a gang rape at the age of 16.  Nine months later she received the reminder of that night in the gift of a baby boy! Seble’s mother came to live with them because Seble was unable to take care of her child. Thankfully God has overcome that horrific reminder and Seble is able to enjoy her son except for the fact that she had severe infections that cause a great deal of pain and the inability to get around.

Yebsira, Seble's son

A missionary with Blessing the Children had brought the situation to the attention of the senior staff; that this women needed some extra attention, so the senior staff along with Jonnett Barrick began to promote the need of this family!

Seble was taken to a fistula clinic only to find out this was not her health issue.  She was then transferred to the women and children’s clinic, where several tests were done.  Her diagnosis was determined and she was given antibiotics to combat the infections.  After one week of being on antibiotics she was checked on and what an amazing change!Seble after doctors visit She went from being in agony, low self esteem, and pain to meeting us at the gate with a huge smile on her face. A full sponsorship was found for her son, Yebsira and the knowledge the family had constant support coming in was overwhelming!

It was a small price to pay to change her outlook on life.  In total, $50 was spent on transportation, doctor’s visits and antibiotics.  When the senior staff was visiting her she was asked how she was feeling and she said so much better that she would like to be able to go to school!  The cost of school was $5 a month!  Who could say no to that request!  We are excited that through Blessing the Children, God is changing this family’s life through the gifts of the foreigners that come to visit!  May God be praised for this life giving change!
