3 For the revelation is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak and not lie. Though it is in the future, wait for it because it will surely come, it will not delay. Habakkuk 1

Ephesians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.

2 Grace be to you, and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

4 Just as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.

5 Having predestined us to be adopted as his children by Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will,

6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he has made us accepted in the Beloved [Christ Jesus].

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the release from bondage of sin, according to the riches of his grace;[Grace allows all men by inward faith to access God's heart and soul purifying power to become free of all sin; Jesus came to save us from our sins, not in our sins.]

8 In which he has lavished on us all manners of wisdom and understanding;

9 Having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he has purposed in himself.

10 So that in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together into one all things in Christ, both things that are in heaven and that are on earth.

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to his will.

12 That we, who first trusted in Christ, should be to the praise of his glory.

13 In whom you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation; in whom after you believed, you were also sealed with the holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest [deposit guarantee] of our inheritance until the coming redemption with our full possession of the Spirit, to the praise of his glory.

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love to all the saints,

16 Do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

17 So that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,

18 By having the eyes of your understanding enlightened; so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places;

21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come,

22 And has put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

23 Which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in all.

Ephesians 2

1 And he has brought you to life, who were dead in trespasses and sins; [We are all in Adam's fallen state, dead to the life of God, living in sin; until we have crucified the old man, and are renewed into the image, light ,life, direction, and power of God.]

2 Where in times past you walked according to the ways of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air [Satan], which is the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience.

3 Among whom we also all had our conduct in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts of our mind; and were by nature the children of wrath and the object of His indignation, just as the rest of mankind.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,

5 And when we were dead in our sins, He brought us to life in union and fellowship with Christ; it is through grace that you are saved; [but you have not been saved by grace until you have been brought to life in union and fellowship with Christ, having been raised up together with Christ into heaven.]

6 And has raised us up together [with Christ], and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

7 So that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not by yourselves. It [faith] is the gift of God.

9 Not by works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has ordained before that we should walk in [doing good works]. 11 Therefore, remember that you were in times past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by those who are called the Circumcision [Jews] in the flesh made by hands.

12 At that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope; you were in the world without God.

13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off, are made near by the blood of Christ.

14 For he is our peace, who has made both [Jew and Gentile] one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man, so making peace;

16 And that he might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity by it. [The inward cross of self-denial, which is to silently listen, hear, and obey Christ's commands, slays a man's selfish spirit and carnal mind, which is enmity to God.]

17 He came and preached peace to you who were distant from God, and to those who were near.

18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

19 Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and belong to the household of God.

20 You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone;

21 In whom the whole building is joined together, and it grows to a holy temple in the Lord.

22 In whom you also are built together for a dwelling place for God  through the Spirit.

Ephesians 3

1 For this reason, I, Paul, am the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2 If indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God that is given to me for you.

3 How that by revelation he made known to me the mystery; (as I wrote before in few a words,

4 In which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),

5 Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 So that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ through the gospel,

7 Of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effectual working of his power.

8 This grace is given to me, who is less than the least of all saints, so that I should preach the unsearchable riches of Christ among the Gentiles,

9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hidden in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ;

10 To the intent that through the church the manifold [many sided and varied] wisdom of God might be made known to the principalities and powers in heavenly places,

11 According to the eternal purpose that he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by faith in him.

13 Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which are your glory.

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,

21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Ephesians 4

1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation with which you are called,

2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, overlooking one another's faults in love;

3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling;

5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

7 But to everyone of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8 Therefore it is said, "When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."

9 (Now he who ascended, what does it mean but that he first descended into lower parts, the earth?

10 He who descended is the same who ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11 And he appointed [gave gifts with his authority to] some as apostles; and some as prophets; and some as evangelists; and some as pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ;

13 Until we all come to the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

14 So that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the deceptions and cunning craftiness of men, by which they lie in wait to deceive.

15 But speaking the truth in love, we may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ.

16 From Him the whole body is joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working of every part, growing up to the edifying of itself in love.

17 Therefore, this I say and testify in the Lord, that from this time forward you must not walk as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, [which is to think thoughts with the carnal mind of man, which must be destroyed, to be replaced by the mind of Christ],

18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.

19 Who being past feeling [pangs of conscience], have given themselves over to fleshly indulgences, to work all impurities with greediness.

20 But you have learned differently from Christ;

21 Assuming you have actually heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus.

22 Strip yourselves of your former nature that controlled your conduct, which corrupts itself through lusts and desires that spring from delusion;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And put on the newly created nature [of Christ], which is created in God's image of true righteousness and holiness.

25 Therefore put away lying, and every man speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are all members of one another and the same body.

26 If you get angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger.

27 Leave no room for the devil.

28 Let the former thief, steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands in an honest occupation so that he may have excess to give to him who lacks necessities.

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth except what is edifying, so that it may minister grace to those who hear you.

30 And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.

32 And be kind and tenderhearted one to another, forgiving each other, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.

Ephesians 5

1 Therefore be followers of God, as dear children;

2 And walk in love, as Christ has also loved us and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.

3 But as becomes the saints, do not let sexual immorality, all uncleanness, or covetousness, be named among you even once.

4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not becoming; but rather give thanks to God.

5 For of this you can be sure, that no sexually immoral, or impure, or covetous person, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words. For because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.

7 Therefore do not share in these things with them.

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.

9 (For the fruit of the Light [the Spirit] is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10 Prove what is acceptable to the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things that are done by them in secret.

13 But all things that are reproved [sins] are made manifest [revealed] by the light. For whatever reveals is light. [Revealed by the light of the word, Jesus, who reproves every man of sin with light that reveals the sins of his heart to him ; the light anonymously pleads with us to cease our evil behavior, but men in their darkness do not comprehend the light. While a man may forget the light's reproving him of his sins, when that man dies, he will see every reproof of God in his lifetime played back vividly and they will be his judge, John 12:47-48; he will remember them all and be ashamed that he ignored the gentle pleadings of God.]

14 Therefore he said, "Awake you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light."

15 See then that you walk with awareness, not as fools, but as wise.

16 Prize your time, because the days are evil.

17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

18 And do not get drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; [To be filled with the Spirit is have your thoughts, words, and actions controlled by the Spirit; and contrary to the current Pentecostal movement of drunkenness, revelry, screaming, shouting, foolishness, collapsing, twitching, jerking, or uncontrolled laughter — all of which evidence fruits of the flesh and are the opposite of self-control, peace, and gentleness, which are fruits of the Holy Spirit. Regarding false prophets, Jesus told us: "you will know them by their fruits;" do not be misled.]

19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,

20 Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church; and he is the savior of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be submissive to their own husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it [the church of believers] with the washing of water by the word,

27 So that he might present it to himself as a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it would be holy and without blemish.

28 So men should love their wives like their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord does the church;

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.

31 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and they two will be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular love his wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she reverences her husband.
Ephesians 6

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord because this is right.

2 "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise:

3 "That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."

4 And, you fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

5 Servants, be obedient to those who are your fleshly masters of the world, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as though you were serving Christ;

6 Not only when being watched, as pleasing men; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

7 Doing service with goodwill, as to the Lord, and not to men.

8 Knowing that whatever good thing any man does, he will receive a reward from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

9 And, you masters, do the same things to them, withholding threats, knowing that your Master is also in heaven [watching you]; neither is there respect for a person's status with him.

10 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Therefore take to you the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to resist and stand in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your waist girded [wrapped] with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

16 Above all, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God [the word of faith in your heart and mouth].

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching in this with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

19 And pray for me, that utterance [of the word of God] may be given [by the Spirit] to me when I begin to speak — to confidently make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 For which [gospel] I am an ambassador in bonds. Pray that I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.

21 But so that you may know my affairs, and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will tell you everything;

22 Whom I have sent to you for that purpose, so that you might know about us, and that he might comfort your hearts.

23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
