There are Consequences of breaking Gods Commandsments

The further we get away from Gods laws the closer we are getting to the second coming of Christ. In the Holy Bible we have learned of the power of God. One example is the story concerning Sodom and Gomorrah and it's destruction.

The Lord wanted to Destroy the City due to his distaste in the sins that were being practiced, so Abraham, stood in the gap on behalf of the city so that God would not have to destroy it. He asked the Lord,  “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

The Lords reply was, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.” Well this went on for a while until he was down to the sake of 10 righteous men. They couldn't find 10 righteous men in Sodom.

The Lord sent two angels to Sodom, Lot took the angels to his home and fed them. Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom both young and old, surrounded the house. They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

Lot offered his virgin daughters to these men, but the Sodomites wanted to break Lots door down to get to the angels (which they thought were men). The angels blinded the men that were at the door so they couldn't find the door.

Lot was told to take his family and leave and to not even look back. The Cities were to be destroyed. Lot's wife looked back, and was turned to a pillar of salt. Sodom was burnt up with burning sulfer.

This is simply a prime example of what God can do with the unrighteousness of man who chooses not to abide by Gods laws. We can make all the laws we want, but God has the power and capabilities to over ride our laws.

To know the Father is to follow his laws and commandments, and be righteous in the eyes of the Lord. Not in the eyes of man.
